Just over half of Maple Ridge homes are single-detached houses, according to the 2021 census, and the City's 2024 housing report says 69% of its housing stock was built after 1981. Its population grew by more than 8,000 people between 2016 and 2021.

That growth sits next to a lot of older and rural housing. Hammond still has houses from the early 1900s, the rural areas run to acreage lots, and the City counts seven manufactured home park sites. We clean all of them, including mobile and double-wide homes, whose ducts are laid out differently from a standard house.

What we see

What We See in Maple Ridge Homes

Maple Ridge runs from the older streets of Hammond and the Town Centre out to the farms and forested lots of Thornhill, with new neighbourhoods going up in Silver Valley and Albion.

Suites inside the house

Maple Ridge allows one secondary suite per lot, and City rules say it has to be inside the house itself. When the suite runs off the main furnace, two households' dust and cooking air move through the same ducts. We clean the suite's vents in the same visit as the rest of the house.

New homes in Silver Valley and Albion

The City's plan maps Silver Valley as one of its new communities, and the Albion Area Plan is built around new residential development. In the 2021 census, 18% of Maple Ridge homes dated from 2011 or later. Construction can leave drywall dust and sawdust in the floor vents and the ducts behind them, and the furnace spreads it once you move in. A first cleaning after the build pulls it out.

Acreage houses and garden suites

Outside the urban area, the City's Rural Residential lots are generally 0.8 or 2.0 hectares, and the City adopted rules for detached garden suites in 2008. A bigger house can have long duct runs or a second furnace, and a garden suite is a separate home with its own vents. We can quote them together.

Mobile and manufactured homes

The City counts seven manufactured home park sites, and the 2021 census put 195 Maple Ridge homes in the movable dwelling category, which covers mobile homes. Mobile and double-wide homes lay their ducts out differently from a standard house, so we match the cleaning to that layout.

Services

What Each Service Covers

Every home is quoted on its own: the vent count, whether the furnace is included, and how we reach the ducts. Any of these can go on one visit.

  • Air duct cleaning

Every supply and return vent, trunk line and branch, cleaned to NADCA's ACR Standard. A HEPA-filtered vacuum keeps the system under negative pressure while compressed-air tools loosen the dust, so it goes into the machine instead of your rooms.

Vent covers vs the ducts behind them
  • Furnace cleaning

We clean the blower motor, clear the burners and heat exchanger, and vacuum and wipe the cabinet and access panels. A dusty blower pushes dust straight back into clean ducts, so we suggest doing both in one visit.

    Furnace cleaning vs duct cleaning
  • Dryer vent cleaning

The lint trap only catches part of the lint. The rest builds up along the exhaust duct, most of all at the bends. We clean the full run to the outside wall, on its own or with your ducts.

  • Bathroom fan cleaning

Clears the dust out of the fan and its duct, so shower moisture leaves the room faster.

  • HRV cleaning

We clean the parts of a heat recovery ventilator most homeowners can't reach: the core, the internal fans, the drain pan and the ducts that connect it to the house.

HRV filters, core and what a pro adds
  • AC coil cleaning

Removes dust and buildup from the AC evaporator coil to help cooling performance. If your AC or heat pump shares the furnace ducts, the duct cleaning covers its vents.

Add-ons: disinfectant fogging with Benefect Decon 30 (Health Canada approved, plant-based), a second furnace, crawlspace, attic or under-slab ducts, and mobile or double-wide homes. Furnace filters aren't included, but if you have one on hand, the technician can swap it in.

When to book

Signs It's Time

The usual guideline is a duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years. Pets, renovations and damp coastal winters can bring that forward.

Your ducts

  • Dust is back on the vent covers within days of wiping them.
  • The house smells musty or stale when the furnace starts up.
  • Allergy symptoms get worse when the heat runs and ease when you leave the house.
  • There's been a renovation since the last cleaning, or you've just moved in.
  • You have pets that shed, someone smokes indoors, or it's been more than two years.

Your dryer vent

  • A normal load needs more than one cycle to dry.
  • The dryer or the laundry room gets unusually hot.
  • You notice a burning or musty smell when the dryer runs.
  • There's lint around the outside vent hood, or its flap stays shut while the dryer runs.

Before we arrive

How to Get Ready

Most single-furnace homes take 3 to 5 hours, and you'll need to be home so the crew can reach every room.

  • Clear about a metre around every floor and wall register.
  • Make sure the furnace and its filter slot are easy to reach.
  • Keep pets in a closed room or outside. Open register holes are a hazard for small animals.
  • Point out any register that smells musty or any room with weak airflow.
  • Plan calls around the noise: the vacuum runs about as loud as a shop vacuum.

What Happens on Your Maple Ridge Visit

Here's the order a typical visit runs in.

A technician lifting a ceiling vent grille to reach the duct behind it
  1. Walkthrough and setup

The crew finds every register, checks the furnace area and connects the HEPA-filtered vacuum to the main trunk, which puts the whole system under negative pressure.

  2. Supply and return runs

Each supply and return duct is cleaned on its own: compressed-air tools loosen the dust and the vacuum pulls it out. This is the longest part of the job.

  3. Furnace and main trunk

The blower compartment, the area around the heat exchanger and the main trunk get cleaned, plus the furnace itself if it's on your quote.

  4. Registers and add-ons

Every register comes off, gets cleaned and goes back on. Any add-ons on your quote, like the dryer vent or bathroom fans, are done now.

  5. Final check and walk-through

We invite you to watch the final cleaning of the main trunk. The technician does a final visual check, secures every access point and goes over the work with you. You pay after the service.

Questions

Duct Cleaning in Maple Ridge: Questions

Get a quote
How much does duct cleaning cost in Maple Ridge?

It depends on the home: how many vents, whether the furnace is on the quote, and how we reach the ductwork. Send the quote form and you'll have a written price by text and email, usually within the hour. You pay after the service.

Do you clean dryer vents in Maple Ridge townhouses?

Yes. More than one in eight Maple Ridge homes is a row house or townhouse (2021 census), and in a townhouse the dryer vent can run a long way to an outside wall or the roof. We clean the whole line, on its own or in the same visit as your ducts.

Can you clean the AC vents too?

Yes. Central air conditioning and heat pumps that share the furnace ducts blow through the same supply and return vents, so a duct cleaning covers them. AC coil cleaning is a separate add-on you can put on the same quote.

My house has a basement suite. Can you clean both?

Yes. If the suite shares the main furnace, we clean the whole system in one visit. If it has its own furnace, or there's a garden suite on the lot, add it on the quote form and we'll price both.

Is vent cleaning the same as duct cleaning?

They overlap. Vent cleaning usually means washing the covers, which takes care of surface dust. Duct cleaning goes further: the covers come off and every supply and return run behind them is cleaned back to the main trunk.

Do you do furnace cleaning in Maple Ridge?

Yes. The blower motor gets cleaned, the burners and heat exchanger cleared, and the cabinet vacuumed and wiped. On a bigger acreage house with a second furnace, both can be done in the same visit.

Do you come out to Thornhill and Whonnock?

Yes. Our crews cover all of Maple Ridge from our office in Coquitlam. Send the quote form and we'll reply with availability, usually within the hour.
